NASA's Artemis II Launches with Historic Crew, Signaling New Era in Lunar Exploration
NASA has successfully launched Artemis II, marking the first crewed lunar mission in over 50 years. The mission, which took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, features a diverse crew including the first woman, first person of color, and first non-American to participate in a lunar mission. The four astronauts, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen, are on a 10-day journey that will take them within 6,000 miles of the moon's surface. This mission is part of NASA's broader Artemis program, which aims to establish a sustainable human presence on the moon and eventually pave the way for human exploration of Mars.
