Utah Governor Spencer Cox Celebrates New Army Reserve Center, Enhancing Military Readiness
Utah Governor Spencer Cox recently celebrated the opening of the new Camp Williams Army Reserve Center (ARC) in Bluffdale, Utah. This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant modernization effort in the region's military history. The $127 million project was a result of a historic land transfer agreement between the University of Utah and the U.S. Army Reserve. The University funded and constructed the ARC in exchange for ownership of the Fort Douglas property, which will be used for future campus development. The new ARC, which spans 227,000 square feet, includes administrative facilities, storage areas, a maintenance shop, and classrooms. It aims to enhance soldier readiness and training capabilities, while also fostering operational synergy with the Utah Army National Guard.
