Vietjet Signs Lease Agreement for 10 Comac C909s to Expand China Network
Vietjet, a low-cost airline, has entered into a finance lease agreement with China's SPDB Financial Leasing for 10 Comac C909 aircraft. This deal, finalized on April 16 during a Vietnamese state visit to Beijing, aims to expand Vietjet's network in Mainland China. The agreement involves operating leases for the aircraft, although the delivery timeline remains undisclosed. Vietjet already operates two C909s leased from Chengdu Airlines, primarily on routes to Con Dao, where larger jets cannot land. Additionally, Vietjet has announced five new routes between Vietnam and China, with two already operational and three more to be launched soon. The airline has also signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with AVIC Cabin Systems to develop advanced aircraft interior solutions and enhance supply chain localization.
