St. Cloud Property Owners to Face Levy Increase in 2027 Budget
St. Cloud Mayor Jake Anderson has announced that property owners should expect a levy increase in the 2027 budget, although it will be more modest than the previous year's hike. The city council had approved a 4.49% increase for 2026, alongside a voter-approved fire referendum. The preliminary figure for 2027 is a 3.75% increase, but this is subject to change based on upcoming budget sessions. The city faces financial pressures from personnel costs and a backlog of equipment needing replacement. Anderson aims to balance necessary services with affordability for residents, considering the local poverty rate.
