Martha Rivers Ingram, Nashville's 'First Lady of the Arts,' Passes Away at 90
Martha Rivers Ingram, a prominent businesswoman and philanthropist known for her significant contributions to Nashville's arts and cultural community, has died at the age of 90. Ingram, who was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and later moved to Nashville, played a pivotal role in developing the Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the Nashville Repertory Theatre. She also served on the boards of several cultural institutions, including the Nashville Ballet and the Nashville Symphony.
