Southwest High School's Project ACE Promotes Environmental Awareness
Southwest High School in El Centro celebrated Earth Day by recognizing students involved in Project ACE, a student-led initiative focused on air quality and environmental health in Imperial County. The program, in collaboration with local organizations, aims to build environmental literacy and empower youth leadership through hands-on learning and community engagement. Students participated in activities such as evaluating air quality indices, conducting experiments, and creating awareness campaigns. The project included a field trip to the Salton Sea, where students observed efforts to improve air quality. Participants received certificates and stipends for their contributions.
