Annapolis Dock Street Flooding Worsens Amid Construction
Flooding on Dock Street in Annapolis, Maryland, has reportedly worsened since construction began in January 2026, according to local business owner Sveinn Storm. Storm, who owns Storm Bros Ice Cream, claims that the parking lot in front of his store now floods more frequently, even during less severe storms. He attributes the issue to construction activities by Whiting Turner, including the installation of a sediment filter membrane in a storm drain. Storm alleges that the pumps and flood mitigation measures previously in place are no longer operational, and the current measures are insufficient. The situation has drawn widespread attention, with Storm sharing photos of the flooding and urging the public to contact city officials.
