Severe Storms and Northern Lights Possible in Pittsburgh This Weekend
Pittsburgh's recent dry weather is expected to end this weekend as severe storms are forecasted to develop on Saturday. According to CBS Pittsburgh, today’s weather (June 4, 2026) features highs in the mid-80s°F (29°C) and lows in the mid-to-low 50s°F (10-15°C), with clear skies until early afternoon when clouds will begin to roll in. Winds are expected to be light, coming from the west at around 5 mph. Friday will see similar conditions, with highs in the upper 80s°F (31°C) and increasing humidity. However, Saturday brings a heightened risk of severe weather, including frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and gusty winds, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Additionally, there is a strong chance of viewing the Northern Lights tonight and tomorrow night due to recent solar activity, with a G3-level geomagnetic storm forecasted.
