Ohio Department of Agriculture Opens Grant Applications for Specialty Crops
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) has announced the opening of the 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant (SCBG) Request for Proposals. This initiative, pending confirmation of federal funding from the USDA, aims to provide financial support to businesses and producers involved in specialty crops, which include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, and horticulture and nursery crops. Eligible applicants include food and agricultural non-profit organizations, cooperatives, associations, commodity groups, universities, and research institutions. The grant awards will range from $25,000 to $150,000, with the application deadline set for May 1, 2026.
