SpaceWERX Selects 11 Firms for $562.5 Million in Military Space Technology Scaling
SpaceWERX, the innovation arm of the U.S. Space Force, has selected 11 companies for a new round of Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) agreements. These agreements aim to transition space technologies from prototype to operational use for military applications. The total expected funding for these 11 agreements is $562.5 million, comprising approximately $245 million from government sources and the remainder from anticipated private investment and other matching funds. The selections were announced on August 20 at the Fed Supernova conference in Austin, Texas. The companies chosen include Agile Space Industries, Antares Nuclear, EO Solutions, Hydrosat, Kall Morris, Method Security, Muon Space, Scout Space, Sedaro, Star Catcher Industries, and ThinkOrbital. While the individual project details were not fully disclosed, STRATFI agreements can be valued up to $60 million per company, typically split between government and private funding.
