Trump's DOJ Gains Oversight of OpenAI's Green-Card Sponsorship Practices
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has reached a settlement with OpenAI and its former subsidiary Statsig, granting the DOJ oversight of their green-card sponsorship practices. The settlement follows allegations that the companies used tactics to prevent U.S. citizens from applying for jobs held by immigrant employees. OpenAI and Statsig have agreed to pay $3.2 million, including a fine and restitution for affected U.S. citizens. The DOJ will oversee the companies' hiring practices for three years to ensure compliance with the Immigration and Nationality Act.
