Dia Azzawi Donates Artwork to Support Displaced Families in Lebanon
Dia Azzawi, a London-based Iraqi artist, has contributed a significant piece to a charity auction aimed at raising funds for displaced families in Beirut and southern Lebanon. The event, titled 'Hold Beirut', is organized by the art consultancy Artse and features works from 30 artists across the Arab world. The auction is hosted on the online platform Artscoops from July 28 to 31, with all proceeds directed to the Lebanese Red Cross and Beit El Baraka, a Beirut-based non-profit. These organizations are actively involved in providing emergency humanitarian aid in response to the ongoing crisis in Lebanon, exacerbated by recent hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel. The conflict has resulted in significant casualties and displacement, with over a million people affected, according to the United Nations’ International Organisation for Migration.
