Curtiss-Wright Introduces PacStar 810, Bringing Data Center Power to the Tactical Edge for Military Operations
Curtiss-Wright has launched the PacStar 810, a high-performance edge data center designed to provide significant computing power for tactical military applications. This rugged, small-form-factor server is engineered to operate in harsh environments, including forward operating bases, ground vehicles, and military aerospace platforms. The PacStar 810 aims to overcome the latency issues associated with traditional cloud-based processing by enabling real-time artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) at the tactical edge. It features a 64-core AMD EPYC 8004 series CPU, substantial DDR5 memory, and full-size NVIDIA GPU cards with 96GB of GDDR7 memory, offering a significant leap in processing capabilities compared to previous generations of embedded hardware. This allows for rapid processing of complex sensor feeds, high-end signal analysis for electronic warfare, and real-time analysis of 3D maps, enhancing situational awareness and threat detection for military personnel.
