IIHS Study Reveals Six Vehicles with Zero Death Rates
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has released a study identifying six vehicles with zero driver deaths per million registered vehicle years. The vehicles include the Audi Q7 AWD, BMW X7 4WD, Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD, Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class 4WD, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class 2WD, and Toyota Tundra CrewMax 4WD. The study highlights the safety advantages of larger vehicles, which tend to perform better in collisions due to their size and advanced crash avoidance systems. In contrast, smaller cars like the Kia Rio and sports cars such as the Chevy Camaro and Corvette have higher death rates, attributed to their size and the driving behavior they attract.
