Amon Carter Museum of American Art Appoints Robert Stein as New Executive Director
Robert Stein has been named the new executive director and CEO of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Stein brings nearly two decades of museum executive experience to his new role, most recently serving as chief information officer at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. He will succeed Andrew J. Walker, who departed the Carter last August after 14 years. Stein's responsibilities will include guiding new exhibitions and programming, expanding the art collection, fostering community engagement, and ensuring the museum's long-term sustainability. During his three-year tenure at the National Gallery of Art, Stein supported artificial intelligence initiatives, such as using AI software for visitor feedback analysis and enhancing public access to artworks for blind and visually impaired visitors.
