FCC Appoints ioXt Alliance as Lead for U.S. Cyber Trust Mark Program to Enhance IoT Security
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced the selection of ioXt Alliance as the Lead Administrator for its U.S. Cyber Trust Mark Program. This program is a voluntary cybersecurity labeling initiative aimed at consumer wireless Internet of Things (IoT) products. The FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau oversees the program, which is designed to help consumers make informed decisions about the IoT products they use. Under the leadership of Chairman Brendan Carr, the FCC has emphasized national security in the program's development. ioXt Alliance, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, is recognized for its focus on improving the security, privacy, and transparency of IoT products. The organization is considered a leading certification body in the IoT security sector.
