Documentary 'Letters From the Silenced Country' Explores Repression in Belarus
The documentary 'Letters From the Silenced Country', directed by Belarusian filmmaker Andrei Kutsila, has been picked up by Filmotor for world sales rights ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The film, which is partly animated, portrays the stories of individuals in Belarus who have faced imprisonment, repression, and exile under an autocratic regime. It highlights the human cost of resistance and the themes of sacrifice, solidarity, and survival. The documentary uses letters as a narrative device to convey the emotions and experiences of those living under oppression.
