Community Efforts Propel Saginaw's Potter Street Station Toward New Future
The historic Potter Street Station in Saginaw, Michigan, is gaining momentum as a community-driven project to preserve and repurpose the landmark. Community members gathered at Hoyt Library to discuss the station's history and future potential. Alex Mixter, secretary of the Saginaw Depot Preservation Corp., highlighted the importance of the station as an architectural asset and its potential as a transportation hub. The community's enthusiasm and involvement have been crucial in making necessary repairs, such as replacing the deteriorating roof, and in envisioning a new purpose for the station.
