Brazilian Defence Exports Surge by 74% in 2025, Driven by Aircraft Sales
Brazil's defence exports have increased by 74% in 2025, reaching USD 3.1 billion, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Defence. This growth is attributed to significant sales, including four Embraer C-390 Millennium airlifters to Sweden and other aircraft to Portugal and Panama. The Brazilian defence industry, which contributes significantly to the national economy, has seen increased demand for its products, including tactical trucks, ammunition, and command-and-control systems. The industry supports 2.9 million jobs and represents 3.49% of Brazil's GDP, with exports reaching around 140 countries.
