Families of 1968 Caravelle Crash Victims Appeal to Macron for Official Acknowledgment
Families of the victims of the 1968 Caravelle crash have reached out to French President Emmanuel Macron, seeking official acknowledgment of the military's responsibility in the incident. The crash, which occurred on September 11, 1968, resulted in the deaths of 95 people, including 13 children. Despite previous investigations concluding with a non-lieu, the families believe a missile fired by the military caused the crash. Recent underwater explorations have been conducted to gather evidence, and the families hope these findings will lead to a formal recognition of the military's fault. The association representing the victims has urged President Macron to address this issue before the end of his term.
