NFC Forum Establishes Healthcare Special Interest Group to Enhance Patient Safety
The NFC Forum has launched a Healthcare Special Interest Group (SIG) to promote the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies in the healthcare sector. This initiative aims to ensure secure, interoperable, and regulatory-compliant NFC applications across medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging, and healthcare delivery systems. The SIG will focus on developing standards, enhancing cybersecurity, and validating new use cases to improve patient safety and enable reliable device-to-device interactions. The group will leverage the expertise of its members, including major technology companies, to foster collaboration and drive practical solutions within the healthcare ecosystem.
