Federal Agents Arrest South Florida Rapper Bankroll for $7.9 Million Fraud Scheme
Federal agents have arrested South Florida hip-hop artist Bankroll, whose real name is David Edmond, aboard a private jet as he was about to fly to Sint Maarten. Edmond appeared in Miami federal court, facing charges related to a nearly $8 million tax refund fraud scheme. According to court documents, Edmond is accused of submitting approximately 450 fraudulent federal tax returns, claiming refunds totaling $7.9 million. Investigators linked Edmond to the scheme through his social media activity and a fake company he created to access an online database for harvesting Social Security numbers. Edmond was found with cash and expensive jewelry at the time of his arrest. He is currently held on personal surety bonds and faces restrictions on travel and internet access.
