Nigerian Sectors Urged to Implement Women Inclusion Policies to Boost Economic Participation
A high-level roundtable in Jos, Nigeria, organized by Ziva Community Initiative and Women in Mining, highlighted the need for urgent policy reforms to enhance women's participation in the mining and agriculture sectors. Despite their significant contributions, women face barriers such as limited access to finance, land ownership, and leadership roles. The meeting called for reforms to property laws, dedicated lending for women, and enforcement of equal opportunity policies. Participants emphasized the economic potential of women in these sectors and the need for government support to unlock it.
