Experts Warn Healthcare Sector on Failing Reactive Security Measures
At the Infosecurity Europe conference, experts highlighted the inadequacy of reactive security measures in healthcare organizations (HCOs), urging the adoption of AI-powered tools to better detect and contain cyber threats. Sher Baig, CEO of Cyber Salus, emphasized the risks posed by legacy infrastructure, hyper-connectivity, and human fatigue, which create vulnerabilities in healthcare systems. The sector is frequently targeted by cyberattacks, with ransomware posing a significant threat to clinical services. Baig advocated for a proactive security posture, leveraging AI for continuous monitoring, faster anomaly detection, and automated threat prioritization to protect patient data and healthcare networks.
