Windcrest Man Charged with Felony for Allegedly Recording Children in Pool Rental Bathroom
Joe Anthony Gonzales, 61, of Windcrest, Texas, faces a state jail felony charge for possession or promotion of lewd visual material depicting a child. An arrest affidavit states that Gonzales allegedly used a hidden camera to record two 7-year-old girls and other guests in a bathroom attached to a backyard pool he rented out via Facebook Marketplace. A woman renting the pool reported that one of her granddaughters noticed someone taking photographs through a hole in the bathroom wall while they were undressed. The woman observed a camera with a large lens through a brick-sized hole, partially concealed by a corner table. Another 17-year-old female guest also reported seeing eyes watching her through the same hole earlier that day while changing. Windcrest police found a piece of plywood covering the hole from the garage side, which was unsecured.
