Former Foreign Correspondent Turns to Uber Driving After Layoff
Steve Scherer, a former foreign correspondent with 26 years of experience in Italy and Canada, found himself unemployed after Reuters eliminated his position due to cost-cutting measures. After returning to the United States, Scherer struggled to find a new job and eventually turned to the gig economy, becoming an Uber driver.
