NMDC Limited Explores Mendoza's Copper Potential Amid Growing International Interest
NMDC Limited, India's leading state-controlled mining company, recently visited Mendoza, Argentina, to explore the province's copper potential and mining development model. The visit was aimed at gaining insights into Mendoza's geological prospects, the status of its major copper projects, and the regulatory framework that governs the mining sector. Mendoza has been actively working to reactivate mineral exploration, particularly in the Malargüe Western Mining District (MDMO), which serves as a cornerstone for new exploration projects. The district encompasses over a hundred projects at various stages of evaluation and exploration, representing a significant portion of the province's mining activity. NMDC's interest in Mendoza is part of its strategy to diversify into critical and strategic minerals, including copper, in response to India's projected demand growth.
