Oprah Winfrey Distances Herself from Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz Over Pro-Trump Politics
Oprah Winfrey has publicly distanced herself from Dr. Phil McGraw and Dr. Mehmet Oz, two television personalities whose careers she helped launch. Winfrey stated in an interview with Emmy magazine that their political leanings, particularly their support for President Trump, have 'not one thing to do with me.' She acknowledged her role in giving both men their initial breaks on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' explaining that her intention at the time was to share what she believed to be valuable information. However, she emphasized that their subsequent paths, including their political affiliations and views, are independent of her influence. This comes after criticism directed at Winfrey regarding the political stances of McGraw and Oz, who have both become prominent figures in conservative politics and have aligned themselves with President Trump's orbit.
