French Parents Arrested for Abandoning Children in Portugal Woods
A French couple has been arrested in Portugal after abandoning their two young children, aged 4 and 5, in a wooded area. The children were left with minimal supplies and were told they were playing a game to 'drive away the devil.' The parents blindfolded the children and instructed them to find a buried knife to remove the blindfolds, leaving them alone in the woods. The children were found by local residents, distressed and without identification. Authorities have charged the parents with child abuse and abandonment. The incident has raised concerns about the long-term psychological impact on the children.
