Meta's AI Health Tool Raises Concerns Over Privacy and Safety
Meta has launched its generative AI model, Muse Spark, designed to assist users with health-related queries. The AI encourages users to upload personal health data, such as fitness tracker readings and lab reports, to analyze trends and patterns. However, concerns have been raised about the safety and privacy of such data sharing, as the AI is not compliant with HIPAA protections. Instances have been reported where the AI provided potentially harmful health advice, such as extreme fasting plans, which could be dangerous for individuals with eating disorders.
