Teen Survives After Concrete Facade Falls in Queens
A 14-year-old boy in Queens, New York, narrowly escaped serious injury when a piece of concrete facade fell on his head. The incident occurred as he walked with his parents in Jackson Heights. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise, initially mistaking it for a car crash. The boy was struck by a triangular piece of concrete, but an awning reportedly broke the fall, potentially saving his life. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition. The building, a two-story landmark, had not previously shown signs of structural issues, according to local business owners.
