Hundreds of Cyclists Ride from Boston to New York City to Honor Firefighters Killed on 9/11
Hundreds of cyclists are participating in Livestrong's First Responder Ride for Resilience, a five-day, 343-mile journey from Boston to New York City. The ride commenced outside Fenway Park on Sunday and is dedicated to honoring the 343 firefighters who lost their lives during the September 11th terror attacks. Each mile of the ride symbolizes one firefighter who perished. In addition to commemorating the fallen, the event also pays tribute to those who continue to battle long-term health effects related to 9/11-related illnesses. Over 200 riders, including first responders and cancer survivors, are taking part in this significant event, which also serves as a fundraiser for organizations such as Livestrong and Friends of Firefighters.
