Albania Tops Global Cyber Security Rankings, Surpassing Major Economies
Albania has been ranked as the world's most cyber-secure nation according to the National Cyber Security Index (NCSI) by Estonia's e-Governance Academy. The index evaluates 155 countries based on their readiness to prevent and respond to cyber attacks, with Albania scoring 98.33 out of 100. The ranking highlights Albania's comprehensive cyber policy, international cooperation, and robust incident response capabilities. Despite its top-tier score, Albania lacks a published military cyber doctrine. The ranking reflects Albania's rapid modernization following a significant cyberattack by Iranian state hackers in 2022, which led to a legal overhaul and strengthened partnerships with the EU, US, and major tech firms.
