AbelZeta Publishes Promising Clinical Findings for GPC3 CAR-T Therapy in Advanced Liver Cancer
AbelZeta Pharma has announced the publication of clinical findings in Nature regarding their GPC3-targeted CAR-T therapy, C-CAR031/AZD7003, for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma. The study, conducted in collaboration with AstraZeneca, involved 36 patients with heavily pretreated liver cancer. The therapy demonstrated a manageable safety profile and significant antitumor activity, with tumor regression observed in 32 patients. The objective response rate was 44.4%, with a median progression-free survival of 4.2 months and overall survival of 14.2 months. The therapy utilizes AstraZeneca's dnTGFβRII armoring platform to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.
