Casely and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Reannounce Recall of Wireless Chargers Following Fatal Incident
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in collaboration with Casely, has reannounced a recall of approximately 429,000 Casely Power Banks 5000mAh portable MagSafe wireless phone chargers. This action follows the death of a 75-year-old woman and an incident involving first-degree burns sustained by another user. The chargers, initially recalled in April 2025 due to overheating and fire hazards, have been linked to 51 consumer reports of malfunction, including six minor burns. Since the initial recall, 28 additional reports have surfaced, including the fatal incident. The chargers were sold online through Casely's website, Amazon, and other platforms between March and September 2024. Consumers are advised to stop using the chargers immediately and contact Casely for a free replacement.
