St. Paul Encampment Grows After Pig's Eye Closure, Raises Safety Concerns
Following the closure of the Pig's Eye Park encampment in St. Paul, Minnesota, the population of a nearby encampment has doubled. Residents of the Waterford Bay Apartments, located near the new encampment, have reported increased police activity due to safety concerns. The city closed Pig's Eye citing public safety issues, and efforts are underway to expand shelter capacity. However, local leaders and residents express concerns about the lack of stable housing solutions for the displaced individuals.
