Drone Explosion Near Israeli Forces Escalates Iran-Lebanon Tensions
A drone exploded near Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in southern Lebanon, intensifying the already high tensions between Iran and Lebanon. This incident occurred amidst ongoing cross-border conflicts despite a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has criticized Iran for allegedly using Lebanon as a bargaining chip in its negotiations with the United States, a claim that Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sharply denied. Araghchi sarcastically responded to Aoun's remarks, suggesting that if Lebanon were truly a bargaining chip, a deal would have been reached long ago. The Lebanese public, according to Aoun, is frustrated with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, and he has called for Iran to cease its interference in Lebanon's internal affairs.
