Dexcom's CONNECT Study Shows Significant Benefits of CGM for Type 2 Diabetes Patients Not Using Insulin
Dexcom, Inc. has announced the results of its CONNECT randomized controlled trial, which demonstrates the significant benefits of using the Dexcom G7 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system for individuals with Type 2 diabetes who are not using insulin. The study, presented at the 2026 Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association, showed that participants using the Dexcom G7 experienced a clinically and statistically significant reduction in HbA1c levels and improved glucose control compared to those using traditional self-monitoring methods. The trial involved 283 participants across 22 primary care practices in the United States, with 265 completing the 26-week study. Key outcomes included an average 1.6% reduction in HbA1c levels for those using the Dexcom G7, with significant improvements in time spent within the target glucose range.
