Arizona Hiker Stung Over 100 Times by Bees, Airlifted to Hospital
A hiker in Arizona was critically injured after being stung more than 100 times by bees while on a trail at Lookout Mountain Preserve in north Phoenix. The incident occurred over the Easter weekend, prompting a rescue operation involving technical teams from Phoenix and Glendale. The hiker was unable to descend the mountain due to the severity of the stings and was airlifted by a Firebird 10 helicopter to an awaiting ambulance at the trailhead. He was then transported to the hospital in critical condition. The unusually warm winter in Arizona has led to increased bee activity, contributing to the frequency of such incidents.
