Robbins Mayor Darren Bryant Grazed by Bullet in Restaurant Shooting, Gunman Killed by Security Guard
Robbins Mayor Darren Bryant was grazed by a ricocheting bullet during a shooting incident at Harold’s Chicken and Ice Bar in Robbins, Illinois, early Saturday morning. A 29-year-old DJ also sustained a graze wound. The incident occurred when Marquelle Rose, 29, of Chicago, entered the establishment and began shooting at an 'intended target.' A security guard, under contract with the bar, responded by shooting the masked gunman, Rose, who was later pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Mayor Bryant was at the bar for a senior resident's birthday party and was seeking cover when he and the DJ were grazed. Neither the mayor nor the DJ were Rose's intended targets. The Cook County sheriff’s office is leading the investigation, and the bar will remain closed until the Robbins police conclude their inquiry.
