Wyoming Awards $1.9 Million in Grants for Outdoor Recreation Projects
The Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Trust Fund has awarded over $1.9 million in grants to support outdoor recreation and tourism infrastructure projects across 15 counties. The funding will be used for various initiatives, including trail building, campground improvements, and river enhancements. Lovell, a town on the eastern edge of the Bighorn Mountains, received the largest grant of $300,000 to develop a new trail network in Cottonwood Canyon. The grants aim to improve public access, enhance recreation experiences, and boost local tourism economies. The initiative reflects Wyoming's commitment to investing in its growing outdoor recreation industry.
