Harriet Hageman's Office Selects Jacquelyn Jeske's Art for U.S. Capitol Display
The office of Wyoming House Representative Harriet Hageman has selected a charcoal artwork by Jacquelyn Jeske, a senior at Star Valley High School, for display at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. Jeske's piece was chosen from 25 top contenders across Wyoming for the 2-D Congressional Art Award for 2026. This marks the second time a student from Star Valley High School has received this honor, with Jentry England having been recognized in 2023. Jeske's artwork, inspired by a photograph of her family's cattle, was praised for its correct proportions, strong contrast, and unique composition, including a '307' tag in a cow's ear, which helped represent Wyoming. Jacquelyn, along with her parents, traveled to Washington D.C. in June for a celebration honoring the young artists whose work is displayed in the Capitol. During her visit, she met Representative Hageman, attended an awards ceremony, and toured various landmarks.
