Armory Show Establishes Two New Museum Acquisition Prizes for 2026 Edition
The Armory Show in New York has announced the creation of two new museum acquisition prizes, set to debut at its upcoming 2026 edition, scheduled from September 24–27. The first is the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) Acquisition Prize, which will allocate $20,000 at each edition to support acquisitions for PAMM's permanent collection and the Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute. This prize will specifically target works from the Focus section, which for 2026 highlights artists with ties to the Caribbean, curated by María Elena Ortiz. The second new prize is the Bronx Museum Acquisition Prize, which will provide $15,000 at each edition to facilitate the purchase of art for its permanent collection. This prize will focus on acquiring works from the Presents sections, featuring 55 emerging galleries. These new initiatives aim to expand museum collections and support diverse voices in contemporary art.
