Canadian Association of Optometrists Launches Campaign to Combat Myopia in Children
The Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) has initiated a digital awareness campaign to address the growing issue of myopia among children. This campaign emphasizes the importance of regular comprehensive eye exams to detect and manage myopia early. Myopia, or nearsightedness, is increasingly common in children and can lead to severe vision problems if not addressed. The campaign, titled 'Myopia Can Hide in Plain Sight,' aims to educate parents about the necessity of eye exams starting from as early as six months of age. The initiative is supported by various regional optometrist associations and industry sponsors, including Alcon and CooperVision. The campaign will run throughout August on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
