Air Cambodia Orders 20 Comac C909 Jets, Strengthening Ties with China
Air Cambodia has announced an order for 20 Comac C909 regional jets, marking a significant step as the first international flag carrier to commit to this Chinese-built aircraft. The announcement was made during the World AI Conference, attended by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. This order follows a memorandum of understanding signed last September between Air Cambodia and Comac. Additionally, Cambodia's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation and Comac have signed an MOU for strategic cooperation in civil aviation, which includes technology transfer, human resource development, and airport maintenance. Air Cambodia is partially owned by the Cambodian government, with stakes also held by Vietnam Airlines, China's Henan Airport Investment Group, and Hong Kong’s 7Trip International Co.
