Pharvaris Plans FDA Filings for Hereditary Angioedema Drug Deucrictibant After Positive Phase 3 Trial Results

Swiss biotech Pharvaris has reported positive data from a Phase 3 trial of its extended-release formulation of deucrictibant, a bradykinin B2 receptor antagonist, for hereditary angioedema (HAE). The drug achieved an 83% reduction in monthly HAE attacks compared to placebo in the CHAPTER-3 study, which included all three types of HAE. This pivotal trial win sets the stage for marketing applications in the U.S. next year. Pharvaris has also filed an oral formulation of deucrictibant for on-demand treatment of HAE attacks with the U.S. FDA in June, with a decision expected by April 23, 2027. Analysts project peak sales for deucrictibant could reach $1 billion to $2 billion if both formulations are approved.
