Heavy Rain and Flooding Persist in Kansas City Area Following Severe Storms
Kansas City, Missouri, experienced significant weather activity over the past few days, with severe thunderstorms bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and isolated tornadoes. According to KSHB 41 Weather Blog, wind speeds reached up to 91 mph in Jarbalo, Kansas, while areas like Trenton, Missouri, saw major flooding. Rainfall totals since Friday ranged from 1-2 inches across the Kansas City metro, with some areas receiving up to 10 inches. Cooler air has now moved into the region, with temperatures dropping into the 50s, well below the seasonal average of 76°F (24°C). A flood watch remains in effect, and the Missouri River is expected to rise above flood stage in the coming days.
