Cyprus Initiates First Gas Project with Eni and TotalEnergies, Boosting European Supply
Cyprus has launched its first hydrocarbon development project, the Cronos gas field, in partnership with Eni and TotalEnergies. The project, located offshore Cyprus, is expected to bring first gas to market by 2028. With an estimated 3 trillion cubic feet of gas, the project will produce around 500 million cubic feet per day. The gas will be processed in Egypt and exported as LNG to international markets, primarily Europe. This development marks a significant milestone for Cyprus as it positions itself as a European gas producer and exporter.
