Flash Flood Warnings Issued for Parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut
A slow-moving rainstorm is bringing steady rain and heavy downpours to southern New England, with the greatest flash flood concerns focused on western and central Massachusetts, northern Connecticut, and northern Rhode Island. Flash flood warnings were issued Wednesday afternoon for parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut, while a flood watch remains in effect for Worcester County until 8 p.m. Wednesday and for southern New Hampshire until 8 a.m. Thursday. Rainfall totals are expected to range from 2 to 4 inches, with localized areas potentially receiving over 4 inches. The flood risk is shifting toward the Boston and Providence areas during the evening commute, with conditions expected to improve gradually by Thursday evening.
