Venus Williams Headlines YWCA's Empowering Women Luncheon in Rochester
Tennis champion and businesswoman Venus Williams served as the keynote speaker at the YWCA’s 20th annual Empowering Women Luncheon in Rochester, New York. The event, themed 'Serving Strength. Building Futures,' took place at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and attracted over 1,500 attendees, setting a new record for the fundraiser. During a fireside chat with Dr. Myra Henry, Williams discussed the importance of evolving, adapting, and improving both personally and professionally. She also shared insights into her love for family, the pursuit of financial freedom, and the entrepreneurial spirit she cultivated from a young age, crediting her father for instilling in her the ability to 'think in an entrepreneurial way' and to be ready to think outside the box. The luncheon serves as the YWCA's primary annual fundraiser, dedicated to supporting its mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
